biography

Meredith Collins’ passion for helping people is what inspired her to pursue a career in financial services. With a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, Meredith views her primary role as a financial professional to “guide my clients to create the blueprint of their lives.” At Cerro Pacific Wealth Advisors, she serves as the director of client services and provides compliance oversight.

For Meredith, the financial collapse of 2008 put a crimp in her plans to pursue a career in architecture. After graduating with her master’s degree in 2011, Meredith had trouble finding a job as an architect and spent the next two years living paycheck to paycheck. That experience prompted her to learn more about finance—and she quickly developed a passion on par with her love of art and architecture.

“I fell in love with it,” Meredith said. “It’s an all-encompassing career path. I love people, interacting with them and getting to know about their idiosyncrasies. Plus, I’m good with numbers.”

Since launching her career in financial services in 2013, Meredith has been helping clients live intentionally. Prior to Cerro Pacific Wealth Advisors, Meredith held various financial advisory positions at Central Coast Wealth Management, Merrill Lynch and, most recently, as a client services and planning associate with Crew Wealth Management in San Luis Obispo.

Meredith was born in New Orleans, LA and relocated to San Luis Obispo when she was 6 years old. She completed her undergraduate studies at Columbia University’s Barnard College, where she graduated cum laude with a major in architecture and minor in Latin American studies.

She lives with her spouse Gil and her teenage step-son near Downtown San Luis Obispo. In their spare time, Meredith and Gil like to DJ and enjoy spinning vinyl as well as livestreaming their sets.
